I have had extensive use of both the 98 Custom and the A-5. I myself own a 98, and my friend across the street owns an A-5. Although both are excellent markers, the 98 would be the better choice. Why? Durability and price. The A-5 has too much plastic on it. Although the Cyclone feed is a nice addition, a revy will easily suffice. So...if you buy a 98 for 140, and a revy for 60, you end up with about 20 or 30 dollars of extra spending money. Now....don't get me wrong....I love the A-5, but the 98 is the superior gun. durablity+cheap=better. |

I have:
In every way imaginable, my 98 continually prove themselves to be the superior markers. I have had numerous dependability issue with my A5, leaving me twisting in the wind three times so far in the middle of games, plus it is a horrible gas hog. To be frightfully honest, the Tippmann A5 has been by far my very worst paintball purchase |

If you were wanting one as a back-up speedball gun then get the A-5. Then get the E-grip with a jcs trigger then you can walk the dog. Then get an All American with a Palmers Stabalizer. |

I have a 98c and i can tell you its just about the most reliable gun on the market. When you pull that trigger you know that its not gonna break a ball or jam. its like the ak47 of the assault rifles, very reliable. The 98c can take a bad beating and still keeps going, very good for woodsball... I have around 600 hundred $ worth of upgrades on it and damn its good. Its more reliable then a a-5 ever will be.... How can you talk crap about the 98c its the most reliable, customizable thing on the market just about. dont get me wrong but the a5's are good too but i think the 98c is alot better, the a5 wit the cyclone feed suck i cant tell u how many times freinds would be tryin to clean it out in a middle of a match. id take my 98c over 99.9% of guns on the market

You guys have got to be kidding. These posts are downright comical. The A-5 is a far superior gun. The 98 Custom is a good gun. But to act like it's better than an A-5 and to say that A-5's are a bad purchase is just plain silly. I think it's like someone else said, they couldn't afford an A-5 and they're jealous.

And about the plastic. The plastic the A-5 is made of isnt going to break anytime soon. Its a very durable plastic, not to mention light. |

buddy, hate to break it to you, but ak-47s are reliable, guarrented to miss anything your aiming at...im not saying the 98c is that inaccurate, but it definately comes up short compared to the A-5 my friend jared has a 98c and it leaks like a calf's a**hole...my a-5 hasnt skipped a beatdown no matter what i do to it -- A-5 with Flatline and redneck autotrigger |

Yes the ak47 is at far ranges inaccurate but when your shooting a few hundred meters you can hit somthing, If you seen pictures of the US Military, some are useing Ak's cause the m16 lack of reliablity and ammo. Its ovious you never been shot at wit a ak. and also my 98c hasent leaked or skipped ..... Edited by LoneWolf42 |
