Ah, airsoft...
Well airsoft is typically its own stand alone sport/hobby, and anyone who plays airsoft says its crazy to mix paintball and airsoft. But anyway. Airsoft guns shoot far and decently accurate, and some feature a hopped up system to increase range. There are a few kinds of guns: Spring-air: Cocked between shots. Fires cheap plastic BBs and sometimes paint BBs. Gas Blow-Back: A small, refillable gas canister is used as propellant. Ideally fires higher quality, solid composite BBs. Electric Pistols: ABSOLUTE CRAP. Do not purchase an electric pistol under any circumstances. Just light your money on fire. Electric Rifles: The best. Only requires charged batteries to fire BBs. Ideally uses high quality BBs. However these are too large for your needs. As far as using the airsoft guns that fire small paintballs I have found that sometimes the paintballs are just barely too big for the barrel and get jammed. Also, they are a bit tougher than normal paintballs (mainly do to the force they exert when moving at the same speed because they have less mass) and can either lack fill, or the fill is negligably small. Most people wouldn't consider themselves out when hit by them. However that is just my experience and I'm sure there are plenty of people who will say to go for it. |
