Why don't they make ratchets, etc. out of aluminum ? Personally, I would love to have GOOD parts available for my marker, rather than always doing replacements with the same thing that just broke ... again.

because then the ratchets would wear out everything else.

Though if it was polished metal, say like stainless steel then it would shoot faster, and there were other mods done too of course. My guess is that it isnt Al 'cause its cheaper to make it out of plastic, even more so when tippmann begins to take the com. over seas to china or some other Commy country. GAA!! |

keep your trolling to a minimum.
ITs psossible it might be to cut down on costs, but it also hugely cuts down on weight. Anytime a hardermaterial rubs against a softer material, then the softer wears away. Its true of all solid materials. So no matter what you put inside your cyclone, its going to wear out. Since the clear part is made of a softer material, you only have to worry about one part wearing out, and you only have to replace that one. |

The softer plastic also acts as a bit of a shock absorber, that was the
problem on the first gen cyclones, the things were breaking balls in
the feeder, the clear plastic ratchet fixed it.
