Giant Squid Invade California Waters

Pretty big slip-up here. Whoever wrote the article obviously has no clue about the difference between giant squids and Humboldt squids.

Were they really Giant squids, not only would it be a rare and amazing phenomenon that would raise true excitement among scientists around the world, it would also reveal that something in the oceans got really screwed up.

But since it is the Humboldt squid they're talking about, they're just reporting an annual phenomenon.
