As much as I like to talk, it has virtually all been said. Look at the top of the page, select "search", and type in Apex. You will get all the opinions and their reasons for that choice.

As to whether it is a good buy, part of that is the price. NIB around the web these days is $70 to $90.

They're fairly new. Search google for the ben tippmann website. It'll show you exactly what it does and how it does it.

first thing you should do a search people get very mad at you for not searching. anyways apexes are really good. they have 8 levels and level 8 offers same accuracy as flatline but with an extra 80ft of range.

level 5 i think is flatline level where has same range as flatline but way more accuracy.

apexes are amazing and outperform flatline in every way. i dont own one though yet. check out pbreview.com and read the very first post as i think it is best.
