I love Ariakons' looks, but they're very expensive. Going to go for the A5 first... then if I like it alot I'll move up to the Ariakon Sim-5 Elite.

Ariakon's MP5-ish thing was my first idea, but then I decided to get the A5 for the price and reputation. And for the cyclone, and ability to get a flatline. Anyhow. I play woodsball. For me it's not pretend army. It's just fun. I wear camo. And I can tell you over and over, it does work as long as you know how to use it, and where. Camo doesn't work in speedball where your surroundings are neon colored "bunkers" and you are constantly running around. Camo DOES work however, in the middle of the woods where you can be sitting still for 10 or more seconds. In woodsball, we wear camo, not to look like the army, but to have an advantage (or not have a disadvantage). It's better than nothing. We want realistic guns, just because they look cool. And for bragging purposes. The realistic guns are just for looks. As long as it's dull colored and/or matches your camo/surroundings, it's fine. For you guys, neon colored camo works best because it's easy to identify teams, and it almost blends in with your neon colored bunkers. It's called speedball for a reason. It's so fast, that it would be impossible to identify teams if the colors weren't bright colored. Personally I would like to have the time to identify my enemy, aim, and shoot, with a limited possibility of being discovered. It's more like an advanced game of hide-and-seek where you have to hide and capture the flag at the same time. I have played speedball, and it is pretty fun, but I guess it's just not for me. |

Last weekend I was out at a scenario game me and three other guys were walking down a trail in the woods. And there is a bush in the middle of the trail so we just walk by thinking nothing of it. Until the bush stood up and shot us out. It was some of the best camoflauge work I had ever seen. |

Heyya! Not to insult you, but where you drunk, high, or are you blind? You walked past someone dressed up like a bush that was just sitting there? You have to be kidding me. Good luck! |

I've seen stupider things happen. In day light a trio of enemies past by us in the woods while we were laying down. Someone almost got stepped on. About the time they are 30 feet behind us we silently get up and turn around and start firing at them. They should've really seen us. I guess they had foggy or smeared gogs or something. But the time that camo worked the best for me was when I was 100 feet from the enemy base and I was "sniping" people for about 15-20 minutes and they had no idea where it was comming from. Then one of my team mates in a t-shirt lays right by me, and they see him and start shooting. I move out of the way, and he gets hit out. Then I move back into position and continue. By that time they are watching the area and I guess they saw the co2 cloud/pbs flying out or something and shot at me and gogged me. |

Since when do you have the authority to declare what's paintball and what isn't? Your perception of paintball doesn't mean crap. Silence. Also, camoflauge does work. It works a heck of a lot better then a bright colored T-shirt. And last, maybe people would like to have fun with their M4-looking guns and not have to feel like their lives are in danger. But back to the topic at hand. I'd recommend a Tippmann only due to the fact that I haven't played with the guns you have asked about. I'm going with what I know here, and that is that you cannot go wrong with a Tippmann. I've seen some pretty convincing milsim Tippmanns, so I have no doubt you can make a good milsim out of one. EDIT: I just noticed something. If camoflauge doesn't work, why does the world's greatest military bother using it? Second edit here. I just noticed something else. Paintball is a simulation. A simulation of what? A simulation of armed comat. Now, last time I checked, wars are not fought behind inflatable and plastic bunkers. Milsim combat is pushing the simulation of real combat even further with markers that look like real weapons. Just my opinion. Edited by Intruder |
