Feels good to finnaly have some time to be back on the forum....This topic is strictly a debate, for fun, to see others opinions, not to start a massive argument. After i was done reading an article about roger clemens it got me into a debate mood. Roger has been playing baseball for 22 years, and on his 22nd year he is being offered 15 million to play, he is saying 22 million. Heres my issue..the average american (middle class) earns between 30 and 50 thousand a year at jobs that some of them do just because they have payments to make and a family to support and here is a man getting offered 15 mil. for a year of doing something he loves and hes complaning. Id much rather see a soldier, police officer, or fire fighter making a check like that mainly because they are the ones who keep this country safe and functioning and put their lives on the line daily to help others. That tells me that some american value their entertainment over their safety. Kind of a scary thought. |

Hes lost all my respect. He said he was retiring 2 year ago. But i guess hes too greedy. Think about how much hes made in the 22 years of playing...

Man, I don't even know what to say. So hockey players are the only real athletes? I guess the football, basketball, and baseball players just waisted their whole life practicing for nothing I guess. What a stupid statement....... |

Hockey players don't make as much as you think...only a select few are
making 10 millionish...and they don't even mind that much...it seems a
majority of the hockey players play more for the love of the game
rather than money...and that's why its heart breaking to see this nhl
season going to waste just because the team owners feel that the
players should be payed even less and that the owners should make even
more millions of dollars than they do already...its just my opinion but
i feel hockey players have the most heart out there
