Well I was already aware of neck protectors and was considering buying one but my main concerns are 1. I'll look like a geek and 2. it will be very uncomfortable. Is there anything else?

You can get the camo fleece ones, but I don't think they'd be very comfortable during warm weather.  Of course you could man up and play without one like almost everyone else.

they arent uncomfortable as long as you dont make it too tight and it doesnt look too bad. i use one and yuo cant see it too much because of my camo and my mask covering some of it.

You could always use facepaint on your neck if you really don't want to wear something there, but I think that'll look weirder then a camo neck protector.

Get a camo bandana and tie it around your neck.

Options:

1. Get a tan

2. Change ethnicity

3. Go mud wrestling and dont bathe afterwards

4. Use your mom's/girlfriends eyeshadow

5. Put your collar up and run backwards

6. String rotten mangos around your neck

7. Super Glue bark to your neck (leaves will work as well)

8. Run around with your arm in front of your neck.

9. Grow a full beard.

10. Use camo tape. (Might want to shave the beard first)

OOOORRRR. Get a frickin camo next protector and realize nobody is going to think you look like a geek when you are already covered from head to toe in camo.

Now seriously, do you have a freakishly long giraffe-neck that you need to cover up?  My buddy is 5'9", weighs 300lbs and is bigger around than the trees on his property that we play in.  He just wears a camo t-shirt and bluejeans and he's tough to find.  I have a hard time believing that a small patch of skin between your chest and your jaw is giving you away.  I would hazard a guess that it has to do more on how you move.  Check the pics below.  Are you showing more skin than this guy?

You can try a Army Navy surplus shop and look for a muslin bandage.  They came with the individual first aid kits.  All it is is a piece of OD green cloth cut into a triangle.  We used them as bandanas undr our com helmets. They cost about 1-2 dollars.

I have to say, being hit in the neck from close range was one of the most painfull hits that I have ever taken in paintball.

I honestly stopped breathing for a few seconds.

Same here the neck seems to be the worst from close range. The back of the neck really sucks but the front/thoat can make you drop pretty fast.

I took a hit under my right ear behind the jaw bone once.  Dropped me to my knees.  Hit that pressure point just right.  That is when I realized that my Vents Predator mask had some weaknesses.  (Yeah, I'm dating myself with that one.)

I was hit actually from a distance from a guy who had to have been shooting hot.  It broke skin on my neck and I was at the proshop the next day getting a Neoprene neck protector lol.  And Yes I did give the guy h*ll for shooting hot.

Not sure how to take this, but.. thanks if you are serious, oops if you are being sarcastic.  Trying to add a little humor.  Personally, I have a neck protector. Too bad I wasnt wearing it last month when someone double tapped me in the side of the neck from about 20 feet away. My wife was very proud going out in public with me with two huge red marks that looked like hickies. Good times.
