I fricken HATE car alarms!  nobody pays any attention to them, all they do is bug the hell out of everyone.  there's a car thats parked outside my schools police HQ/office/whatever, which also happens to be just down the street from my dorm.  this car has an alarm that goes off every time someone with a system or loud exhaust drives by, which is about every 5 minutes.  whens the last time you heard a car alarm and sprinted over to the source in hopes of catching a perpetrator?  exactly, no one ever does.  they're useless, all they do is piss people off, and if you have one, i hate you.

For awhile a few years ago security here at work was pestering me about the complaints they were getting about my car alarm going off in the parking garage.

I had an '88 Jeep Wrangler, soft top, with no door locks and no alarm.

Security didn't believe me. They kept telling me to disable it while at work. I told them to walk out there with me and check. They declined but their language assured me that I was lying to them.

One of my friends with a Ram 3500 with a Cummins Turbo Diesel strait put a 5" strait pipe on it and took the silencer ring of the turbo.  It sets of so many alarms, usually at least one every parking lot we've pulled in to.

When your breaking into a car, you dont want some loud as noise happening. It does actually (help)deter theft.

That's about as arrogant as the people who blast their crappy sound systems (or good in their opinion) as they drive through town, bass all the way up and windows open, blasting rap music.

It seems the more they spend on speakers, the crappier it sounds to everyone else.

I know there are some forumers here who do that.

I hate alarms... once at work, another worker and myself were unloading a ridiculous amount of golf balls out of some attorney's car.  We used the automatic lock thing and open the doors, only to be bombarded by the most annoying bmw car alarm ever.  Now, this was in a secure, heated garage with security cameras all over.  Not once were we approached by anyone what we were doing.

I had a headache for the rest of the afternoon.

I was at Fry's once and this car alarm was going off and we walked by the car and it looked like the people were trying to get into the car through the trunk. I didn't feel like doing anything about it. The people just looked at us and they went along with their business.

ROFL  was it Dane Cook that did that skit?

i only approached 1 car that had an alarm going off.  it was 3am, and it would go off then stop for a minuet then go off again.  it did that for about 10 minuets before i grabbed a knife and walked up to it.

the moron that owned it couldnt figure out why when he pulled the key out of the ignition it went off.  i almost hit him there on the spot.  it was that annoying.
