TL DR bite me. I found this site accidently, but I love the diagrams and story behind this "assault rifle" from 1780. On another page, at this site, you can see a 200 year old ASA/pin valve.

Interesting.
I had always wondered about the guns with a bulb like stock on them. Would have never guessed it held compressed gas. |
