Hey everyone. Just picked up the cronus. Really an excellent gun! Just lacking some range. Just wondering what other tippmann products are compatable with the cronus. What shall I do? Thanks for the help...

All paintball markers are going to have the same range when properly chronographed unless you add backspin to the ball either by using an Apex barrel/tip or a flatline barrel to accomplish this.
I don't have one, so I'm not 100% sure what the barrel threading is on the Chronus, but I'm assuming it's A5/Pro-series threaded. If you want to increase the performance of your marker, the first thing to do is get a new barrel. Stock barrels (as a rule) pretty much suck. Most of us on the forum really like the J&J Ceramic line. Longer barrels do not make your marker more accurate, they just make it consume more air to push the round down the barrel and remain at the desired velocity. Between 10 and 14 inches is the optimum length. I have a 12 and a 14 inch J&J ceramic that I use on most of my markers and have done so for years. They're pretty much the best barrel for the price. Next, I'd go with a motorized hopper. You don't need the top of the line speedball hopper, but even a standard Revolution hopper will make a world of difference. This prevents chops and misfeeds when firing quickly. After that, most other upgrades are a matter of personal taste. |

I tried an a5 barrel and the barrels diameter after the thread is too large to fit on the gun:-(

The threads were the same though? I wonder if it's possible to swap out barrel adapters or not. I'll see if I can't get to a pro shop this weekend and check one out to give you some better ideas. |

I couldnt get the barrel deep enough into the gun to tell if the threads were the same.

Gotcha. Like I said, I'll see if I can't get my hands on one at a local pro-shop this week to see what's up. |

Just saw a youtube vid on this marker. It takes A-5 threaded barrels. So, you have a ton of barrels to select from. I suggest a 12" J&J Ceramic barrel. Quiet and easy to clean.
