I want to buy a new gun. I can afford either gun. Wich one is better? I like to play woods when ever I can, but find myself with a lack of woods to play in so I play the fields. I like accuracy and distance. Is one gun as good as the other?

both guns are good. The A-5 comes stock with the cyclone feed system which is nice. Both guns are very customizlable and shoot basically the same distance. If money's not a problem the I would get the A-5 and buy a new barrel and maybe the response trigger

I agree though I prefer the egrip. Some fields are picky about not letting RTs on and the Egrip is also very customizable in shooting speeds. And a new barrel is always a must. |

I have a 98C and looking to buy an Alpha with the Egrip. For the money, I don't think anything can touch the Alpha esp. for woodsball. It has all of the internals of the 98C and looks like an M4. I've shot both the A5 and the 98C and perfer the 98C because of the feel of it. These guns stock will shoot the same distance and accuracy. I would get whatever you can afford plus a new barrel. The A5 does have a few advantages over the 98C though. For the price of a base A5, you can get an Egrip w/ACT 98C, just a thought.

A-5, more stuff to do to them, id say the 98 if you played speedball equally with woodsball but if you just want to be an avid woodsball player go with the A-5

Both are decent markers. With the possible exception of the Platinum edition 98Cs, the A-5 is the easiest to fieldstrip and clean. The A-5 comes stock with the Cyclone which is an optional add-on for the 98C.

I think if you compare the pricing for the A-5 and 98, you will find they are pretty equal in price once you add the cylcone to the 98. If this is an option you plan on anyways, might as well do it upfront. If you want a speedball marker, look into something besides a Tippmann. Great markers, but not really for speedball. IMO.

I have a 98 custom. I would say go with the 98 custom. Super upgradable. Plus they are just fun!
I have an e-trigger (WAS) board and a EGG 3 on the way for mine.

If you can wait a bit and like the M4, get yourself an E-grip Alpha black (which is a 98c with an M4 body) for $159.99 srp. Nothing can beat that. Add $55 more for the cyclone and for just a bit over $200 you will get something really kick ass that is as good as the A5. A5 and 98c with a cyclone = same thing. The Alpha black stock barrel is also better than an A5 or X7 stock barrel.
