Hi All,
On the cyclone (mine is on the phenom) how much of a seal should there be in the piston?
If I blow down the feed hose theat goes to the piston it leaks and is easy to blowe down it.
The marker works fine but sometimes it will chopp a ball, I was wondering as this isnt very efficent and this could be causing many of the cyclone problems?

Where are you chopping balls? In the Cyclone? Or the Breach or Barrel.
The Cyclone piston uses excess gas and it uses it to cycle the rachet. There probably is nothing wrong there as it feeds well. What paint are you using? what are the temperatures? what are you using to power your marker CO2 or HPA? |

I was using H18 FIELD low temp, bit cold over here in old Blighty and I was using powder (fun until they brake in the bretch then you have to do a complete strip down).
I'm using HPA and it broke in the breach, (powder) paint was fine, my own fault really becaue I was using soft paddels although if they feed paint why not powder? just couldn't resist putting some powder through it.
I've had a play with the piston and found that they seem to have a few leaks:
They leak out of the back through the primming rod; put a better O ring in.
The piston doesnt seal 100%; replace the seal with an O ring.
Seems to seal much better and I've drilled out the feed plug (stock) to 1.2mm, can't test at the mo, out of air.

The Cyclone piston uses a u-ring to seal. Pretty common really on a part that only needs to oppose air pressure from one direction. Also the higher air pressure when it's operating will tend to "flare" the seal out tighter, so I wouldn't worry too much if it leaks a bit under a lip test.

Well, I'v just gone back to my stock piston tube and stock plastic piston rod, with up graded ratchet and ratchet arm thing, and my custom made valve plug no problems at the mo works a treat. Daz Edited by TK7873 - 07 February 2011 at 2:04pm |
