My cyclone has had a problem of not spinning.  I went out and purchased a new cyclone and it worked fine for a couple of months then had the same problem.  This weekend I replaced the internals of the cyclone with the metal Vortex mod and am still getting the same problem.  Although it is working a little better and my QEV should arrive next week so hopefully that will help but please review my situation.  The cyclone doesn't fully cycle when I press the manual cycle and release it slowly.  I have to release it really quick for the piston to come all the way back.

I took the micro line off the gun and there was tons of air coming out of the gun.  I then put the macro line on the gun and removed it from the piston and there is just a small amount of air coming from that end.  Also I'm shooting with a 68/4500 Crossfire HPA tank and a flatline barrel at ~260fps.  Could the problem be that I'm not putting enough pressure in the gun either from the velocity adjuster or that the tank reg is slightly lower than where it should be?

If none of these problems fix the gun I'm thinking about upgrading the macro lines from factory 1/16 dia. to 1/8 but that would mean removing the QEV since all the QEV's are 1/16.

And if that doesn't fix the problem.... I'm getting a ION.

yeah it sounds like your starving the cyclone. try to turn up the amount of excess gas your gonna have to power the cyclone  or like you said put better hoses on it. though how to deal with the fact your QEV are 1/16 I don't know

My QEV is 1/8".  First of all, it's not microline, it's ID hose.  Second of all, you installed the vortex wrong if the manual button does not work.  What likely happened is, your ratchet was warn out, so you got the vortex mod, installed it wrong, and now you are having similar results.  It sounds like you may have cut the piston return spring too much if you ask me.

So it doesnt work properly even using the manual advance plunger?

Sounds like something is wonkered with the spring inside the cylinder. You can get at it by removing the cyclone bottom plate, and the cylinder will be freed.

The cyclone actually cycles with a spring, so if that spring is damaged or something, it will do what you describe.

I think I've got it working fine now (oiled everything and turned up the pressure, don't know how many fps I'm shooting until I get to the field though).

However on both my cyclones if I push the manual feed and release it slowly it doesn't complete the cycle.  I have to release the manual feed very quickly to get it to complete the cycle.

You may have over tightened the screws on the bottom, back them off a half a turn and see what happens. The return spring should retun the piston even when operated slowly. Make sure you did not bend the Vortex ratchet when intsalling the roll pin that holds the cylinder piston arm (#16 in cyclone schematic) it is a tight fit. And do not cut your piston return spring I believe RavenGuard ment the internal ratchet spring.

try also turning your psi up to 325. at low pressure it may not function properly
