Some 12000 rounds through my new A5:

Turns without problems when empty.

Stalls when I add paintballs to the hopper.

I've stripped the entire cyclone unit now & cannot seem to find anything that looks wrong with it.

There was some sticking with the ratchet, but I can't figure out why ... & it seems to have lost that habit.

Seals are all good. No wear marks on the ratchet. Cylinder piston is straight.

I've tried stretching the spring a bit, but haven't had a chance to test it yet.

Anybody else had this problem ?

If so ... what was the fix ?

Cheers !

I conquered.

I used to have that problem about once a month.  Short term fixes, I just sent it to Tippmann.  For the long run, I got rid of the A-5.

(I accually beat it on the floor, but over the head sounds funnier)

It's stock with a flatline.

I oil it regularly.

I won't be getting rid of it any time soon.

I'll try the other forum afore mentioned.

I won't hit my gun.

Cheers !

Check your ratchet very closely.  I've replaced mine 3 times, but I have about 300,000 rounds through it.  It may be cracked and it can only be seen when you apply pressure to it.

See where there may be resistance on its movement by watching it move with 6 ball in it and then send it to Tippmann if you still cant figure it out.

Tippmann is sending me a new ratchet.

Hoping that's the only issue here.

Yeah, there were no questions asked, other than where do you want it sent.

Now ... it's just time to be patient.

In the meanwhile ... I'm gonna build a replacement outta cold weld material, using a dremil to carve it.

Sounds crazy, huh ?
