On the Crossover XVR, I have two questions on the firing modes. 1) How do you change between the electronic modes, like you want to go from response to full auto? 2) What are some of the firing modes: all I understand is Full-auto, semi-auto, response, and three-shot burst. I don't really know what NPPL and PSP and such are.

NPPL and PSP modes are tournament-ready modes for tournaments that use those rule sets. Each governing body in paintball has their own rules for capping rate of fire and whether ramping/response/full-auto is allowed or not. Those two settings will automatically make sure the marker fires within those limits depending on what the rules are for the related league.
As for changing the modes, I'm not personally familiar with the XVR's setup, but it should be the same as the original Crossover. Link |

On the original Crossover there was a button on the back of the handle used to program/change modes and the instructions are in the manual.
