well to tune it youll need to get the velocity right, the alignment right, and the right paint. so for velocity, you want to keep it low (270-260fps), so do some shooting and mess with the screw and springs untill it looks like they are going strait, with little breaks and no swerving. or go to or call your nearest proshop and ask if they do chronoing. youd be surprised how many places do it for a small fee. alingnment is very easy for the a-5. it should be perfect normaly, but you may need to shoot and adjust. paint, find small, shallow seemed, thicker shelled, good quality paint. like marbalizers, better kinds of draxxus, pmi premiums, bigball, ect. |

Most fields will let U use the chrono for free , but make sure you dont cause any problems by hogging it when players are trying to get ready to go on-field , do your chrono work while the games are in session , and chrono use is at a minimum .

ok, see thats another thing. i never usually go to fields. the only field near me is pretty damn expensive. see i play with my friends just in the woods. also, i do reconize the recommended fps and the alignment and the small caliber paint. its just a matter that i don't have a chronograph. i'm saving up for one, but i just need to see wut im gonn hafta do without one for now

What u can do fer now is start with a low velocity and start increasing it till u see the flatline effect.Try increasing up a bit like 1/4 turn at a time..if the ball starts to go crazy then decrease it till its flatins again.By then u should be close to 260-280 range. Hope it helps. |

If you play woods ball and don't go to fields. Get your buddies to chip in and buy a chrony. I live in an area where the powers-to-be shut down all the commercial fields. So we play pick up games in the woods. I bought a chrony because I got tired of being hit with a ball peen hammer. We chronographed a new gun out of the box at 376 and others in the 325 range. We make everyone chrono their marker before the games. Plus you will have the tool you need to fine tune your flatline. |
