I'm venturing out (no pun intended) to different styles. I'm pretty into blues, but I've been playing around with some Santana-style stuff. I'm currently working on his little duet "Put Your Lights On". Awesome guitar work there-all over the fretboard. The Calling rocks as well-any suggestions on perfecting his style? And yes I realise I'm not going to get PRS tone out of my humble Strat, but I won't be purchasing one anytime soon so... Current tone setup- Tube Screamer turned about 3/4 up Delay turned up Reverb kept mid way Neck/Middle P/U Combo Overdrive turned up CryBaby Works alright for his style...far from perfect though. |

I play but I've never really ventured too far into santana's stuff.
Plus my electric set up is worthless. The likelyhood is that in the
next couple months I will either be picking up a new strat or les paul,
or my friends dads original 68 strat (He's pretty attached so I'd
probably payiong enough for a new one but hey the things a classic).
What kind of cry baby is it? I've got a 535q that I picked up for about
30 bucks like new on ebay, it didn't work when I got it but it was just
a couple of crossed wires that must've happened in manufacturing.
Pretty good deal considering they cost 240 new

I could play a little on the Acoustic, but I decided the piano, and then organ which is more powerful than any other intrument to be the one I wanted to learn.

If you get the CryBaby, get the 535Q model. You can literally replicate almost any kind of wah you hear. It's extra $$$, but well worth it. |

Okay, awhile back I played guitar for this one band, keep in mind i was just filling in. Basically what happened is it was the last song and everyone started freaking out so i smashed my guitar and all that good stuff. Picked up an acoustic and its the best thing thats ever happened. Come to the acoustic side my young one. |

Acoustics are fun, and it takes extreme skill to play lead acoustic. I've just spent alot of time focusing on electric blues (distortion, feedback, etc.) and it's kind of strange to play an acoustic for me. I did learn on one, however. So it's in my system some where...maybe by the liver, or stomach...
