yeah, i agree that the 98c is a great begginer gun, and it "blows the pirhana out of the water"....but dont say that in comparison with the imagine and the 98c. look at that link, regular spyder imagine with a halo B shooting as fast as a timmy. no 98c no matter what can do that unless it has the e-bolt...and im sure it would chop. |

ya the it matters what you wanna do. Do you wanna do speed ball well if you do go with the spyder. Or if you wanna do woodsball go with the 98c your choice and your style

?what? no spyders are made stock for speedball. in fact, it doesnt matter what gun u have. i use my spyder and my VF tactical in woodsball. i sumtimes even use my nightkast in woodsball if i feel like it. |

Crimp, what are you sayin, no doubt the spyder is faster out of the box, but my brother got one and it broke down within 4 months. my 98c could keep up with timmys and angels in speedball, something the imaginge wasnt reliable enough for. Now im not saying the 98 was as fast as the timmys but it sure was reliable and helped win a couple games. Whatever you play id say go with the 98c I love mine

....i dont doubt that a 98c can keep up with a timmy. what im sayin is that an imagine can keep up with a timmy with just a better hopper, HPA, and a reg. the 98c on the other hand...has to go with about 550$ of work to keep up with timmy and itll more likly chop. now, one tippy gun that i would choose over the imagine would be the a5.

If your gona play speedball get a spyder, its not as unreliable as everyone says as long as you take care of it (oil and clean it after every time you take it out, ect..) spyders also have more speedball upgrades available for them.
If you plan on playing in the woods go for the 98c, it is very durable and will take the damage it will get put through playing woods, it also has more woodsball upgrades available for it. |

The 98c is the best gun up there. You do know we are all going to be bias towards the 98c because this is a Tippmann forum. |

the spyder isnt really all that unreliable(as said before), it will work great if you just take care of it(also said above), it also is faster out of the box and has more speedball upgrade(said above also). But if you want to play woodsball and have a extremely durable gun that will take anything you throw at it and also be customizable, go with the 98c

another suggestion would be to save your pennies for a little while longer and pick up a Smart Parts ION. relitivly cheap, electro pneumatic, break beam eyes, light weight, compact, etc... or I saw some other kinda spyder clone in a mag, its new and made by Diablo, not really sure what the name is but it looked OK. those guns are in the 280$$ price range. which is a very good price for what your getting |
