Dudes- I recently put a Low Pressure Kit on my Model 98. The regulator I got had no outlet to put a gauge on it, so I got no way of knowing what my output pressure is to my gun. I have seen m98s that have a gauge mounted onto the side of the low pressure chamber. This is what I would like to do.
I don't want to drill into the low pressure chamber until I get some info. Is it hollow? How thick are the walls? Is there anything I can drill into? If anyone has tried this I would love some advice, I just don't want to mess up my low pressure kit. Thanks!

mmm i dont think u can just drill a hole threw it...ether buy a new regulator or i believe u can just get a lil piece with a gauge that u would screw into ur gun then ur regulator would screw into that..im doin fine with out one but im thinkin of buyin a bob long torpedo

I don't want to drill through it, just into it. Drill a hole, tap it for threads, screw a gauge into the hole. I have seen pics of M98s where this has been done.

Yes, you can tap a low pressure chamber for a gauge. There's nothing inside, all it does is hold air, so you don't need to worry about screwing anything up as long as you don't drill into the opposite wall.
Just make sure you drill straight, and use a tapping kit before you install the gauge.
EDIT: I don't know how thick the walls are, but is shouldn't be that hard to firgure out when to stop drilling.

USE A DRILL PRESS! Unless you're insanely good at eyeballing things, use a drill press and some sort of clamp or vise to hold the LP Chamber down while you drill (to hold it down snug and for safety's sake.) I don't happen to know the specs off the top of my head, but I think you'll need around a 3/16th bit or a 1/4 inch bit and a tap that is that large as well. Just take your time drilling a nice straight hole into one side of the chamber (make sure you screw it on to the vertical adapter first so that you know where to drill the hole) and then take your time tapping it, making sure to lube and back out the tap every little bit so that it doesn't bind up. Also take care to blow out the metal shavings that might remain inside the chamber before gassing it up, as they would most likely be shot into your valve/gauge.
