i went to sam goodys by my self for a velvet revovler cd and they carded me and i had to go get my dad

and it dawned on me if i am able to go and get a cd without assitant or a ride (just past the drivers test 2 days earlier) i should be able to handle listening to qoute "bad words"

and it sad it was explict lyrics how is to say the board who decide this what words are excplict

a board of up tight people can control what i do without knowing how mature i am

i am tired of picking up slack  for immature  people who say and do stuff they see in the media

i know litle kids should here that but should not be  suffering for bad parenting of parent who dont keep track of there kids or teach them bad from good

So buy it from a different music store that doesnt card for ratings...

Try small local stores, not giant impersonal corporate crap-marts.

To get off topic here...

I also hate how stores such as Walmart that forbid albums with explicit content...I mean editing for a radio is one thing to pass regulations but i think taking an artists album and "cleaning it up" is a violation of the artists original statement...i think its just greed to clean up an album and sell it out as to reach more listeners...but i like how you can go to the movies section and buy an R rated movie with nudity, violance, and profanity in it but across the aisle you can't buy an album because it says "the f word"...if yer going to be a moral watch-dog, at least have some consistancy...am i right?

Hey!

I don't know where you're from and what laws are there, but if you lived here in Michigan then no, you wouldn't be right.

Here, you have to be 17 to buy "PA'd" cd's and to buy "R" rated movies...as well as in order to get into "R" rated movies at theaters.

No...You missed the point of my rant...I'm saying Walmart does not sell cds with "explicit" lyrics...I'm not talking about age...You can have a movie with sex and profanity in it...but not an album that says "the f word"

...This is why people pirate music online. If they can't buy it, they'll just get it for free online. The music industry is just hurting itself more.

Then quit looking like a little kiddy and they won't card you, I've bought Kill Bill and stuff at walmart without being carded. It must be my manly sexyness, or my sexy manliness.

at wal-mart you cant buy music with swearing in it but you can buy movies and watch the people do it.... i think its because in movies they show you when its appropriate to swear (i.e.- when your about to die, when you break something, when your about to kill the villian, when you wreck your dads car, etc, etc) but in music they swear while singing which is unacceptable
