Im looking to get an ebolt for my 98c because i am getting more and more into speed and tournys. When it comes to maintaining my 98c, i know what i am doing, but is the ebolt a hassle at all or is it difficult to work with? it seems wierd to think of my 98c becoming electro. Anyone have any input? thanks

Well, there are a few issues here.

It is easy to maintain and clean, as it is just about the same.

But to FIX it it is a bit harder. With a mechanical gun, it is quite obvious what is wrong when your marker is not working. Electronics on the other hand, you have to know more about wiring and such instead of simple springs, leavers, etc.

I would check to see if the ebolt is legal at all before you drop a knot on it. i know the r/t has been banned from many tournies.

It might freeze up a lot, since you might be fireing faster (that is if you do have co2), so I would reccomend getting an HPA tank, to prevent freezing up, and saving more o-rings for yourself.

Well, most tourneys don't allow full-auto. I would suggest you lighten your trigger pull. The e-bolt and e-grip (A-5 only) are for non-tourney play. They have semi-auto only modes, but if you just want it for the tourney why waste the money if it has to stay on semi?

What are you talking about? E-Grip/Bolt for non-tourny players? The whoel point of these upgrades is to make the gun faster. In semi, the gun's still WAY faster than it is mech, because there's such a short light trigger pull so you can actually walk it.

I have never had my ebolt freeze up and I use co2. Just last week I got bunkered by a couple of friends and I went through about 200 rounds in about one minute or less on full auto and it never gave my any prob.

The ebolt is easy to clean, about the same as the mech. The tigger pull is much, much lighter and I have had mine for more than a year and it has never given me any prob (knock on wood). The ebolt also takes out all the recoil so you can shoot as fast as you want and all the balls pretty much stay on target.

And if Im not mistaked all the Tippmann Effect guys have ebots dont they? I believe that since you have to take the grip off to switch it back and forth they usually allow it, or atleast they do around here.
