Has a stock ever messed up you gun???

the car stocks, or most anyway, have a built in rear velocity adjuster (RVA). it adds or lessen spring tension enableing you to control your velocity. it seems like its all the way out and theres too much tension causing your spring to bend. im not exactly sure how to loosen it, but i think its just that screw notch in the butt of the stock. i think you have to loosen something first.

also, make sure your drive pin is in. it goes inside your drive spring, then in the stock.

Yeah- you may have forced the spring in too much and benmt it, or the RVA is ALL THE WAY IN and making the tension too tight. I'm not sure if your CAR stock has an RVA. It's more than likely user error than "back" luck or a crappy stock. Of course, depending on where you got the stock it may be crappy.

FYI, all the way out decreases tension, but he is right that this is likely causing the bent spring. The problem when it is all the way out is that it actually makes the drive spring pin too short and it could get hung up. It doesn't need one that is a lot longer, but that 1/8" is making the difference.

I have never had trouble with my stock (from Extreme Sports & Hobbies - see below) but I too have read of TONS of people complaining about their stocks being problematic (inconsistent velocity changes) due to the stock fitting loosely to the marker frame.

 

I used a 1mm thick rubber flat washer as described above.  It needed a little trimming around the pin bungs, but fit together snugly without "hammering", has no wobble, and I can still push the pins out.  The tension on the RVA needs a bit of fiddling.  With mine all the way out, I was starving the gun when fireing rapidly causing the sear not to catch the bolt, like I ran out of air.  I think the trick is to find just enough tension to give good opperation, but not too much as to waste air.  I havn't played with it enough to comment on any efficiency improvement.
