My 98C with an RT is chopping balls pretty bad. I have an Empire Reloader hopper which is supposed to feed 10-12 per second. I just checked my speed and I am shooting at 9.2 per second. Is there something wrong with my gun. Do I need to slow it down even more. Any suggestions. Thanks

Check your barrel. Slow down the r/t and tune it up until it starts chopping again. That means you want to stop(of course). If you want to go faster i highly suggest switching to a much faster hopper. I use Haol B w/ rip and it works great. It probably isn't worth getting for the r/t but i plan on using it on a new gun that i will get in the future. If you still have problems, you might want to take it to a shop and see if the can spot any problems. They usually can find it because they are more trained for working w/ guns.

Very good feed back guys, "just get another gun" that wasnt his question at all. If he wanted advice on a new gun then he would have said so. If your not going to answer the question then dont post anything.
Now as for your breaking paint in your barrel, with an r/t your going to want a better hopper, feeding atleast 18-25 a second, even if you dont shoot that fast. Its better to have something that can feed paint faster then you can shoot, you dont want to be shooting as fast as your hoppers max feeding speed. You need a hopper that can feed faster then you can shoot so there is no question about a ball always being in your barrel.

Get a faster hopper. I suggest an EVO II or better. install a better (faster) feedneck. Guys, telling him to get an A-5 is not helping his 98 custom.

Fool around with the settings on the R/T and cleaning your gun well can help.

Tippman A5 =$270

Tippmann 98 Custom = 170 + 110 for halo B= 280

and the 98 C shoots alot faster and more efficient than a5...

So A5's, while nice arent much better than a 98c..
