So I raced a Camry...

Today was the last day of finals and I was about 1/4 of the way
through my 45 mile commute home when I stop at a stoplight on a 4 lane
road through a small town named Chandler.  A white Camry pulls
into the lane next to me, we are both first at the light.  It
turns green and I start out, my normal rate of acceleration is pretty
fast (shifting at 3k for each gear) and I notice this Camry is keeping
up, infact he is slightly gaining.  So I wind up 1st to about 4k,
not trying at all, then shift into 2nd and continue to rev through
it.  The one thing that is bothering me is how well this Camry is
keeping up.  I'm steadily pulling away from him but a stock Camry
shouldn't be keeping up this much even if I'm barely racing him. 
Well I get into 3rd and stop accelerating at about 70 and I'm about to
go on my merry way when I see lights flashing at the top of the Camry's
windshield.  I immediately know I'm screwed so I pull over just
after the 2 lanes merge.  This young guy (looks like he just got
out of college) with blonde hair-I notice a wallet sized object with a
police star dangling from a necklace, undercover?-  comes out with
a grin on his face.  He immediately says "What's goin on, man?" I
say "Not much."  He says "Don't be racin no cops dude."  I
reply "I thought you were racing me."  "I was until I figured out
that I couldn't keep up and then I decided to pull you over and see
what you said."  He aks me where I'm going and I tell him and then
he says again "Don't be racin cops dude."  This totally threw me
off guard as I figured I was going to get reckless driving at the least
(speed limit was 40) but he followed me for about 5 miles until we
reached the shopping center in the next town.

I was driving a 6 speed 2002 Camaro Z28.

	Well I was gaining on him the whole time, but I didn't walk him as badly as I should (it would have been a different story if I had ran it wide open). He probably had a police chip in the car. Who knows, this guy obviously wasn't a very responsible cop. I should have atleast had a ticket. Edited by Variable
