^ That gun sucks. The 98c's are good for speedball and woodsball. Youjust need the money. If you are beginner and want a good speedball gun thats already electric then get like a Spyder E-99 Avant.

How does that gun suck!!! Its better then 90% of other spyders out there, and nomader what upgrades you put into a 98, you still only top out at 13bps.

well, the gun dont suck but....any way, you can uncap or modify the ebolt. it has been done, in fact, theres a movie of a 98c in the marker gallery shooting 19 bps, mabye ud like to take a look. in my opinion, tippmanns make better woods ball guns, if u want a tippmann to be speedball then get an A5 there faster. but if u dont want a tippmann then save yur money and get some kind of expensive speedball gun. i dont really no that many cus i dont care about them.(im perfectly happy with my A5) |

The 98C can be made rather cheaply into a Very respectable speedballer marker , true they are limited at around 11BPS mechanical out of the box,(the Ebolt isnt worth the extra 2 CPS in my opinion , besides being discontinued by tippmann ) . I am working on a speedball version of a 98C that is at the limit of 11 BPS mechanical now,, , and will soon be exceeding that by a LOT , I will post details , and costs of the upgrades when the marker if finished . I am going for the biggest Bang for the buck , Upgrades ,and modifications , trying to keep it strictly mechanical (less to foul up , as opposed to A5 feeders , and electro everything ) Watch for the "Widowmaker" in about a month , a Project still under construction , stock 98c and internals , Polished everything, fitted sear and bolt , Trigger overtravel stop , surface ground recievers , Halo-B hopper , RufusDawg centerfeed , Double trigger (havent decided if to buy,or make yet) , never been shot in combat yet , and with all the costs (cept marker and new barrel ) is about $ 134.00 ($119.00 Halo , $25.00 Center feed )with another approximately $50.00 -$75.00 to go (double trigger and remote line ) gonna hit 20 BPS this time !! |

It is unreliable at best, and I would be truly amazed if anyone could pull 18 bps on it, much less 30. |

I think you would be better off to shop around.the 98 is better suited to lower BPS. The money it takes to upgrade it to a truely impressive speedball marker would be better spent on another marker.

yuck...
The Guns I'm Hearing are Terrible. If you want a Reliable Cheap
Electro Go with either a Mongoose 2 LCD<200$> or a Spyder Pilot
ACS<232$> Those will work great for ya, but its all personal
prefrence.
(IMO) I think the 98c would be really awsome for a begginer like yourself, just add a few things and your 98c will be awsome.

If you are trying to start and want to go big I would get a cheap spyder imagine theyre cheap won't break down on you and best of all its easier, faster and lighter than a custum

I do agree that spyders suck but there better than getting a veiw loder or brass eagle. Besides you could do what I did by an extra uprgrade it with 16 in twister barrel than buy a electronic trigure frame. play with for a while until you think you are ready to handle a gun like an A5 or a autocker
