i recently purchased an a-5 with a flatline but i can't seem to get it ti shoot as far as i read it should.  I can get it to shoot about 150 ft and that is it. It only shoots about 25 feet shorter with the stock barrell. Maybe i am just having trouble getting it honed in. Am i expecting too much or might there be something wrong?

Make sure it's installed properly. The distance on mine is great.

Sounds like you have a problem.  Check velocity and also check to be sure its installed properly, which I doubt is the problem.  Make sure to the lines line up.  If all else fails call Tippmann.  They have great customer service.

If you use good paint, if you install it right, if you set the velocity right... they work great and as advertised.  To say they suck is just flat out wrong!  If your flatty isn't working corectly it might be a manufacturing issue on yours, but you are probably doing something wrong.  I haven't seen anything out shoot a flatty.

An important piece of advice for flatline owners is to invest in a regulator. It keeps it far more consistent; the flatty is sensitive to pressure differences. Also, a regul;ator helps you keep your shtos within the flatline's velocity 'sweet spot'. I've just ordered a Palmer's Inline stabilizer for my Remote hookup; it should get my shot groupings a lot smaller...

-Dead On front grip

The bigger part is the curve of the barrel- that's where most of the backspin comes in.
