I'm skeptical. It would at most be an animatronic puppet that can bend forward and bacward and move it's hands around, but probably can't walk without bending metal parts out of place and completely breaking down.

But I can be wrong.

It's cool that they're at least starting to make make real life "mechas"

Actually, the governments military R&D department, DARPA, has been working on a most practical form of this for a long time. I've been researching it for a while now and it's lookin really cool. Here's a link to the howstuffworks article about 'em. There's actually a lot of stuff about the project out there if ya wanna check it out.

Explain your reasoning.  I am posotive they have hydraulics to operate such a vehicle, and strong enough metals (titanium alloy) or a composite carbon material.

Anyway, it is pretty neat.
The desire for polyester is just to powerful.

These things whould be very usefull in construction and other civilian projects, but in warfare they arn't very practical since they can't cary as many heavy wepons as say an attack helecopter or a tank, and they will never move off road as fast as a tracked or wheeled vehical, plus you can just trip them. But in the civilian realm, they are very practical.

LOL Vig.....

Insurgent: "Sire, the infedels have these huge battle machines! They have rocket launchers, flame throwers, miniguns, and they stand almost 15 feet tall! I think our cause may be lost! What should we do!?!?"

Extreemist Leader: "Just trip it...."

Anyway, I agree, he doesn't explain how his user interface works but unless it exactly mimics it's users movements without any restriction it would be really vulnerable. That and the logistics of supporting those things.....I think as soon as DARPA gets their stuff together, thats when we'll see military exoskeletons.  I think it would be great. Each soldier would have the armor of an APC, the firepower of a Apache, the speed of a Hummer, the Communication and Battlefield awareness of a Striker, and unmatched strenght and endurence. Who's gonna screw with us when it takes a missle to take out one GI?

Heck, maybe this'll be us one day.....

Closest we will ever get to mechs.

http://www.military.com/soldiertech/0,14632,Soldiertech_Futu reWar,,00.html

I doubt mechs will ever catch on. Way more expensive and complicated than standard tanks. Knee-cap the mech with a Javelin or Viper and it is useless.
