Just go to the store and try on whatever is there, and see what fits
best. Start with any skating shoes, those are usually the most
comfortable.

Skater shoes are horrible for your feet, they many be comfertable but your arches undergo so much pressure and tension. I reccomend if your get skater shoes to get a new insert for the shoes because otherwise you could turn out with flatter arches...which will bite back at you later in life.
BSically find something that is: A: Comfortable B:Not to spendy. C: Supportive D: Looks decent For me, I have a bad ankle in which I completely losta ligament which in turn ripped my tendon and trapped it on the oposite side of my ankle bone. What from? Combination of bad support, injuries, and a high pain tollerance. |

Personally, I am skinny but have wide feet. I can't just buy some shoes out of a catalog, because they might not fit right.
I have gone through all kinds of brands of basketball shoes; Adidas, Fila, Converse, Nike, Reebok No one can fade Nike in this department. Nike makes the best basketball shoes. Period. It's always good to have some good balling shoes, but you said you want something to walk around in....so I would say skater shoes are the way to go. I don't know how good they are for your feet, but I absolutely love my Adios and DVS shoes. They are wide, full of padding, comfortable as hell, and MADE WELL! I'm so tired of buying some shoes for $80 when they are obviously made by some poor kid in some third-world country...cheap crap. Then, for the same price I buy these skater shoes, and they are simply the bomb. They last forever, are comfortable as hell, and they're stylish as anything...what's more to like? |

Holy crap! I had the same thing happen to me dude. On your bad ankle, does it look like you have an extra ankle bone? Like, is there another bump coming from the side of your ankle? Cause thats what mine is like. Because of my bad ankle, and the fact that I have flat feet, skater shoes will not work for me. I need to have custom made orthodics for my shoes to correct my lack of arches, and skater shoes are just too small for them to fit. However, New Balances all have removable inner soles and fit my orthodics nicely |

I've got a pair of Vans that I really like...
They're about a year old, and still in great condition. The only thing wearing out is the inside of the heel, but that's because I don't untie them. I abuse my shoes badly, so for a pair to be in as good of shape as these are is quite impressive. I just bought a pair of K-Swiss shoes last night, and I must say that they're pretty comfortable, and look good. I can't speak to their durability, but they're not bad at all (so far) for the $65 I paid. |

Dont go the way of vans. They will make your arches fall. Wich hurts. Get a pair of DCs or Adios. Osiris is a good brand for comfort as well just not Vans. Vans suck.. |
