It says here you can use boiled down paintballs to refill mines. How exactly do you do that? Do you just heat the paintballs up or do you need to add something to them?

Also, if I were to get a replacement lense for my shield what one would you suggest? I dont know whether to get the smoke or amber. Smoke makes things darker and amber brightens things right?

Sorry for the stupid questions. Im a n00b

Lol... yeah your post count really makes you looks like a noob.

As far as the lens, amber increases contrast i believe, and eliminates chromatic aboration.  Smoke is good for bright days.

As far as boiling down paintballs... temp change and moisture should break a paintball down in a second, as long as the mix doesnt have too much water.

If your going to try to boil paintballs down, youll need to add water, but I dont know how much. I suggest you do it in an old pot of coarse.

Amber is the tint you should get. Like he said it brightens contrast, and it actualy helps see movment better by this. Smoke may make your enemy blend in better with the shadows and darkness.

woodsballers, pshhhhh

Amber wood be your best bet. Makes things brighter.

Smoke wood be good if you play in an open area in the sun.

Hey!

You may be able to just take a pot of just boiling water and put a tempered glass bowl or metal bowl(whatever) with paintballs in it over the pot and the steam will heat up the bowl and melt down the paintballs.

I'd stir them to help them melt faster and to help get rid of the shells.

A LITTLE bit of water in the bowl wouldn't hurt either.

Try it and see. Just use a few to start out with.

To boil paintballs :

  1. Add Paintballs to large pot that can get a little messy.
  2. Add approx. 3/4 cup water for every 500 paintballs
  3. Bring Heat to Medium Low.
  4. Stir paint constantly to prevent burning the paint while cooking,
  5. Take a small wire spatula like thing (the things they use for deep fat frying are good) and scoop out the shells from the mix.  If I remember correctly the shells will float.
  6. Once the shells are gone, let the paint simmer ont he lowest heat while you stir on occasion until the excess water is mostly boiled away.
  7. Serve in a Paint mine or Water balloon

why not just buy some ghetto brand paintballs and cut them with an exacto knife, put into a pot or something and add water until you reach the consistency you're happy with?

I just got a replacement lens for my JT Spectra. Its one of the thermal
yellow's, and it smokes. I love it, It didnt fog once and it was 70 degrees
out last sunday.

Its good for woodball as well. It really illuminates things.
I guess its all personal preference at this point.

Amber lenses are nice, but I prefer plain old clear, mirrored lenses are hot
too, but not exactly suited to woodsball.

EDIT:

YWSM, you should know that if you go w/ amber lenses, ppl will spot the
color of the lenses and identify you easier than if you had clear or smoke
lenses.
