Hi im new here, im an avid pb player and i really enjoy the sport.. but after getting my 98 custom out after not using it for months because of school and work, i decided to have some fun only to find out my gun is not working correctly. I tried shooting it, i get one fully pressurized shot, then the next is a dud that goes 10 feet infront of me, then i shoot again to get a double fire and hte ball goes about 20 feet, then mabey if im lucky a good full shot, i dont know whats goin on! I striped it cleaned everything and reoiled but still isnt helping, and my gun isnt even a year old yet!

Is your C02 tank full? Also, check/replace your o-rings.

Check your valve screws. They are the two screws on the right side of the gun, directly opposite of the words Tippmann 98 Custom. They are most likely either missing, or loose. If they are loose, tighten them carefully, because if you tighten them too much you will strip the valve.
If they are missing, then call Tippmann and they should send you replacements. If/When you get them, and they dont screw in, you need to replace the valve. Again call Tippmann, if your gun is under a year old, this stuff is free. Post again if your have more questions, and welcome to the forums! ![]() |

Yeah it sounds like a classic case of loose/missing valve bolts. Listen to him, and be care full not to overtighten. If the body is stripped, you need a new valve or valve body. Also make sure the ball latch is in the right position. Just cock your gun and look into your chamber. It should the curved the same way as the ball. Refer to your manual if you dont understand. |
