I had the RT put in and never used it because winter started that was
3 months ago. Now as soon as I put the CO2 tank on air come right out the barrel I read through the other posts and it said to oil the ASA but I don’t know what that is. Also will wd-40 work for oiling or do I need something else? Thank you in advance. Edited by westin |

Did you cock the gun first? Drop some 3 drops of oil into the ASA. DO NOT USE WD-40!!!! That will destroy your o-rings and seals! Use a non-petrolium based less harsh lubricant. Hoppes #9 is ideal as well as Gold Cup, and any other oil intened for paintball guns.

Hopefully it didnt harm anything too much. Just use differant stuff next time. ASA stands for Air Source Adapter. This is also known as the tank adapter or the thing you screw your tank into. |

Hey! It sounds like you've used WD-40 in the past and your valve seals are shot! Either that or your valve pin is compressed and is allowing your air to leak out. Oil everything up really good and if it still leaks, check your valve pin and make sure that it's working properly...if it is...you're gonna need a new valve/powertube because that means that your seals are shot.

You do not want to use WD-40 or any lubricant that is petroleum based. Those types of lubes will ruin the rubber that the o-rings are made of. That may be why you're having trouble now.
When folks recommend putting oil in the asa, that is how you oil the internals of the valve. First, UNSCREW THE BARREL. Put a few drops of oil inside the asa. Gas up the marker, and fire it a few dozen times. As you fire the gun, the oil in the ASA will be spread throughout the internals, where you otherwise couldn't oil. Oil will shoot out of the end of the gun, that's why it's important that you remove your barrel, or else you will get oil inside the barrel, and may never get it all out. Good luck. |
