Welcome to Tippmann. They are both good guns. The 98C is more upgradable. The Pro Carbine is slightly better straight out of the box accuracy wise but has a harder trigger pull. I personally would look into a 98C Pro that already has some of the upgrades on it (dropfrwd, dbl. trigger, and werks barrel). There are three models base, rt, and e-grip. Shoot all of them and you'll find out which you like.

^^^I agree. I have played with both and I like the 98c best and the many upgrade plays a big factor. |

Get the custom pro. For $40 more than the 98c you get a drop, werks barrel and a 2x trigger and also the choice to put an e-grip on it.
