How exactly does an RVA work on a M98? When you tighten
the screw on the back, does that increas or decreas
velocity?

Basically what I want to know is, how does the velocity
change in relation to the tension of the spring. So, if
the spring is tighter, and moves forward with more force,
does that make the velocity go up? Or down? I'm confused.

I recently did some messing around with my LPK rear bolt,
and ended up with slightly less tension. I also noticed
that I could not get my velocity above 250fps. I just
wondered if these two things were related, and if they
were, if I could get my velocity back up by compressing
the spring more.

Thanks

First, get rid of the Spec Ops link.

Second, it allows you to increase and decrease, whichever you need to do. I do major tuning with the stock velocity adjuster and then fine tune it with the RVA. You may be able to get you velocity back up but I wouldnt get your hopes up.

Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

Heyya!

The RVA increase/decrease spring tension, allowing the hammer to strike with more or less force, depending on how the RVA is adjusted. By increasing spring tension (screwing the RVA in), the velocity should increase. By reducing spring tension (screwing the RVA out), velocity should drop.

As far as the low-pressure kit, velocity is affected by several things: spring tension on the hammer, input pressure of the reg, and the set-screw used to adjust velocity stock. The set screw should be set as far back to allow the greatest volume of air through the powertube as possible without the set-screw falling out.

Once this is accomplished, select a spring tension you would like to run your gun at. I often used just a stock green spring from a Madman Spring Kit which can be purchased at most places for $10.00. This simplifies things a bit. But anyway, go somewhat light.

Once done, set the regulator to no-flow and go up a quarter turn and shoot paint over a chrono. At some point, the velocity should stop going up. Once this is accomplished, you've found the optimal pressure for the gun and can adjust spring tension accordingly.

Good luck!

Edit- If any of this does not make sense, drop me a PM.
