the pro carbine is a classic rental gun, originally the pro am (very heavy) then pro lite.is your marker a model 98 or model 98 custom?if model 98 is what you have then you can have tippmann mill out the the grip for further upgrades and warranty work.what are these missing pieces,do you still have the manual, and what are the problems with it.reread manual, clean and oil properly.
I know my marker in and out and have a spare parts kit
so I don,t need a backup, but it would be nice to have my
old pro-lite or pmi tracer again.
98c/rt,12" j&j pro-1,java coiled remote to 20 oz,eggy II,spee-t-cocker,ghetto fab stock(homebrew),pgp2k1.

What do you play?
I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.

The Pro Carbine is a great gun.  If you can get it cheap, fix your M98 and get that.  Or go for the 98c.

I have a Pro-Lite I used it alot until I bought my A-5, It doesn't shoot too fast but it's one of the most accurate paintball markers I've used. The people I played with thought of it as a "old" tippmann, well while they were painting the woods trying to hit someone, I'd line up my sights and give them 1 shot in the mask! I'll never get rid of it!

The Pro/Carb is a very nice gun as is the 98/98c. I'd say that the 98c is more upgradeable than the other 2, but that doesnt make it better. Pro/Carbs are very durable and reliable and if you want to switch from your 98, it would be a good gun to try out.
Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

pro carb is nice.....but if your mod 98 isnt working, just fix it and keep playing with it, so you dont have to end up spending $160
