I think a good idea to put on Tippmann guns would be a beter way of adjusting velocity. there should be a screw to turn (maybe better than the one now) and next to it should be a dial. The dail should show a needle pointing at the current vellocity setting acording to how much the screw has been screwed. This would make it much easier to adjust velocity. You wouldnt need a chronograph or whatever. Does anyone think this is agood idea?

The only problem with that is, outside varients like how much air you have left, temperature, barrel, paint and many other factors lead to diffrent velocitys even though the velocity screw may be in the exact same place.

Plus the Tippmann Velocity adjusters are the dumbest design for a velocity adjuster anyway.

^Yeah, i dont like how they are at all. That's why I'm getting a RVA.

It would help, but only for awhile. As YWSM said, once you're low on air or paint you might get velocity spikes.

I don't think tippys were meant to have their springs played with like that.

I just got a large wing screw and placed it in there. Works better than the normal one and no wrench turning.

the springs are fine to mess with. you can always polish your internals to help the over all movement. its just a stupid spring. if it wears out get a mad man kit, or a spacer like a bb.
somebody somewhere knows where to get spacers of different length from home depot that will pop right in...i must go search now

i don't think a wing nut allows the marker to be tourney legal. i don't think you supposed to be able to adjust on the field without a tool. too easy to cheat with the wing nut. but good idea if  you just play in the back woods or something.

RVA's are a whole lot better than the screws.
Because I can.

I don't see the real problem with bringing an allen key with ya to the chrono or even better gettin 4 friends to toss in $20 and get a radarchron for when ya play outlaw ball. Turning a tiny screw a few turns to the left or right really doesn't constitute a need for Tippmann to invest thousands of dollars for what could be solved by buying a $2.00 allen key.  But I suppose any ideas a good one.  Props for an original-ish idea

Me too.  The velocity adjuster sucks, but I hope the RVA makes it a lot easier.

the RVA makes adjusting you velosity much nicer and its much more effecitant on you air supply. if you place the FVA, flush with the inside of the powertube so there is no effect on the air flow, or ger the JCS gold powertube) and adjust with the RVA or another means, you will achieve more consistancy from shot to shot and get more shots out of your tank.
since you're no longer trying to "use a road block" as your means of controling you velosity.

i don't know if it makes it easier or not to adjust, but its easier on your Co2/HPA

I dont think it would work, since it's not really a pressure thing on tippys. You'd need a barrel with a chrono built into the tip so it could read the velocity as it excited.
