what mask do you use now?
is it supposed to be anti fog or fog resistant? if not thenget a new mask. a tip for helping, is don't put the mask on your head until you have to. the longer its on you head, the faster the fog will build. but you have to have an no fog lense otherwise you can't complain. |

yea, what brand of mask do u have, jt, dye,? what ever brand of mask you have =,get a fan 4 that type. even tho you have a fan you will not be 100% fog free. I have a jt thermal lens and a 2 way fan,and yesterday I foged up, but it was about 94 outside with 80% humidity.

I'd go for a new mask. I'd reccomend a Vforce mask, something
like a Vforce morph would be good, they are very hard to fog up, and
the lenses are actually easy to take off and clean, and put back on.

I'd shell out for a new mask before I would get a fan. Fans are very loud and annoying, in my opinion.

TRY BREATHING THROUGH YOUR NOSE CALMLY AND SPRAY YOUR MASK AGAIN. IF THERES STILL A PROB THEN GET A MASK W/ THERMAL LENS. |

I had an older jt thermal lens and after like 15-20 minetes they would fog up and after like 6 motnhs the seals between the lenses wore out and let water in and it would fog up in like 30 seconds. I would recomend anything V force I brought a V-force Armer for like $20 4 months ago and have never had it fogged up. Yesterday I wore it for over an hour straight in 90+ degree heat with 80 something humidity and it never fogged and it is also realy easy to clean

my mask has never had problems fogging up, and our games sometimes last 2 hours. i sweat like CRAZY inside my mask, and itjust keeps going and going. my lense is "anti-fog" and it does its job.

If you have a JT mask I suggest just buying the JT Vortex Fan. I know other companies have fans too, but I know & trust JT and stand by Brand Loyalty. It just "plugs into" the top of the mask and can be used with a visor. I know they fit with the J/T Proteus masks (spectra goggles) & the J/T X-Fire masks / elite goggles (even with the elite visor on) so I'm sure it will fit whichever J/T thermal mask you already have. I, like you, used to have major problems with fogging. The thermal lens helps a little, but the fan is a god-send. I do not have it on constantly and I will admit that there are inconsistencies since some are quieter than others. But they keep me fog free and I'm a fairly big guy with healthy sweat glands. |

I wear JT goggles with a thermal lens but with glasses underneath. Tried several anti-fog chemicals and though the goggle lens stayed fog free, my glasses would fog...actually that is incorrect, the anti-fog chemicals would prevent the formation of the fog haze, but the moisture still condenses and eventually forms large enough droplets to distort my vision. My son also wears a JT mask but a different model. I eventually went searching for a fan. I found two slightly different models on Ebay and bought one of each...one cost $12 and the other $15...normally nearly $50 retail. I lucked out in that one fit my goggles and the other fit my son's. (Sorry, I cannot remember which models of goggles we have) At first, installed per instructions, the fans didn't work worth a darn. After some experimentation I altered the goggle frames. I covered the top of the perforated ventilation area with duct tape and cut a hole in the top that lined up with with the fan blade. The duct tape prevented air from leaking allowing the air from the fan, whether pushing or pulling, to sweep across the back of the goggle lens, and my glasses. I couldn't have asked for the fan to do a better job of keeping my glasses fog free...in both cold and hot temperatures. Biggest problem is forgetting to turn off the fan after each play day. The fan uses one triple A battery and will last two or three play days (about 30 continuous hours). I now change the battery before every play day. The fan is a bit noisy but I got used to it quickly. Our regular field has landing airplanes flying overhead all the time. I can't even hear the fan most of the time. $39 to $50 for a fan is too much. less than $20 is well worth it. |
