Urgent dispatch from Shaef HQ.:

This is not a drill!!!

To all Allied troops in the New England, New York, New Jersy, Pa, Ohio, West Virginia, and Virginia area. Maryland is excluded due to the heavy fighting reported in that AO. However if you are in the Maryland area and can disengage from the enemy, do so.

This is not a drill. HOstilities will resume on Sept. 24 th. All available Allied forces are urged to rush reinforcements to New York's West Point Academy. The general staff (Monty and Mark) will be leading their seasoned veterans.

Intelligence indicates that Wehrmacht has placed Generals Mark and Rob in command of German forces. They commanded at D-day.

Intelligence estimates that the Wehrmacht has amassed multiple German assets just out side the perimeter of Allied forces. Estimates put the German troop strength at a very high level.

This situation is critical. A German push now could cut supply lines to the entire western front.

Pack the same gear that you took to Skirmish and make reservations now. All hotels are booked.

Hit the ground running and prepare to dig in.

This is not a drill. Early reports indicate a massive breakthrough. The salient that German armor has created is now being referred to as the bulge. Hence this operation is now being referred to as the "Battle of the Bulge."

Attention, Attention. There have been many questions.

I talked to the Major on Friday, and here are a few answers to some of those.

There will be no third parties in this one. No French. Not Tyrell.

This year's point system will be partially based on objects collected. Somewhat like Skirmish. Capture and transport missions will be critical.

One fellow asked where this event will occur. West Point is in New York state and lies between Albany and the City of New York.

There will be no limit on the number of players. The major says that if the numbers get too large, he will just make the field bigger. West Point could host a 10,000 man game.

To prepare for the event, WP is monitoring registrations. They have to know how many are attending.

Armor is welcome. See www.armypaintball.com for details.

Player referees will be used.

Hotels seem to be full already.

This event may break WP's record for attendance.

Camping will be permitted. More on this later.

Briefing beginsat 8am or 0800 hrs. Game ends 11 hours later at 7Pm

Military transport will move you from the camping/parking/assembly area to the main battle field. Pack a lunch.

Kevlar hemets are worn while in US Army vehicles.

This is a WWll scenario based on the Battle of the Bulge. In this soldiers and paratroops were surrounded by crack German units. (All you Paras from Skirmish, bring those WWll jackets)

The cadets are heavily involved in designing the event.

Paint. The major is a PB player and his standards for paint are the highest. April's ammo was primo. Two grades were available in April. Price will be posted soon.

Many of you have asked. The allied commander (to date) has not been named.

Spring game. No scenario has been selected. No leaders have been appointed. The Spring game will probably be in April.

More game and registration information will be forthcoming shortly.

Camping:
there is a large camping area.

WP asks that you keep broken glass out of the "hand to hand combat" pit.

There was a problem last year with bonfires. However, the major may permit fires this year.

A military water truck will be dispensing water.

Finally, the men at the Point are soldiers. In regard to conduct and maintaining their facility, they have some of the highest standards in the US Army. Keep this in mind.

Many of you are coming from Skirmish, and are new to WP. I've spoken highly of you. I was impressed by what I saw at Skirmish. I believe that WP will also be highly impressed.

Carry on.

This has a date conflict with Viper RTS in Sept. in NJ with Blue’s Crew.

You may want to think about changing the date. Many big teams are heading south...
