The springs that come with the R/T kit are stronger and can be made
slightly differently. Verify you have a 98C kit, but you should be fine

You just take out your stock sear spring, and replace it with the spring that came in the r/t kit. Not to complicated.

ok i figured this would fit best in this thread. I have a 98 custom which i
love. i got part of an rt kit from my friend, he gave me everything but the new power tube and sear spring. i bought the power tube from dop (their proseal kit that accepts the rt) but i still dont have the heavier spring that comes with the rt kit. my question is where can i get this spring and also what is the part number or name for it? thanks for the help |

It apears from your spring description that your 98C has the Cpro/A5 type sear and the spring in the kit is for the origional98C, I don't have an answer other than call tippmann with the info , you may not have to change the spring with your setup. Edited by cus98tom - 30 March 2006 at 11:14pm |

Check the packaging that the R/T kit came in. It should have been shipped with both kinds of sears, the old style with the loops and the new A5/CPro style that just drops in. The type of sear you have will determing the type of sear spring you will use. |

Tippmann puts in a little bit stronger spring , what this does is speed the sear up to catch the rear bolt . If your not having problems Don't change the spring , but I would call them anyway , have them send you one and keep it in your parts box in-case you do need it you'll have it. |
