now figure this out, I have a 98C with Flatline and the shroud: after cleaning my marker and putting it back together the ball latch won't snap back into place. It seems that somehow the whole shroud has shifted forward about 1/8 of an inch! Now the shroud (plastic) is not warped and has no apparent damage! Anyone ever had this problem, and if they have what'd you do?

Well I'm guessing it's the stupid 98c front sight. Sometime the little C pin thing pops out causing the Feedneck not to snapback into place. Take your gun apart and make sure the Front sight is assembulled (SP?-it's late) right and then put your gun back together.

good Idea, but no. It's begging to frustrate me. To describe the situation a little better it's almost like the shroud grew overnight. It's the weirdest thing.................TIPPMANN IF YOUR READING,
HELP!

Confusing... All I can say is take your gun TOTALLY apart and put it back together.

We can't help you on this one. This is probably one of the few things your can't do anything about unless the gun is sitting infront of you.

I have glued my spring in with Super Glue, just the bottom leg, not interfering with the flex of the spring, eliminating all my reassembly problems. If you do this you may need to use the spray activator to get the glue to harden. Super Glue, like Loc-Tite, is anaerobic and will not set up unless parts are pressed together to exclude air (and a little humidity is present). The spray activator will cause it to set up anywhere. (the OH ion is necessary to activate, but go learn your own chemistry |
