I just learned a couple of days ago that my dad's job got eliminated.. aka he got laid off.

It's been rough on the family even thought he company was "nice" enough to pay him severence pay, so he'll get his usual salary till Feb.

So, the the people inside PBC the other day when I blew up, I'm sorry, it's just been rough.

Not looking for pity, just saying don't think it can't happen to you.

My dad got laid off in Feb 2k3. He's been doing contract jobs since then. Only since a few days ago he got a job that pays close enough to his old salary So that we can live the same way we did before 2003.

Ya.. it really sucks.

They laid him off becasue he's been around the longest, so he got paid the most...

they said that if he finds a job out of state, he'll move but I'll stay so I can be with my friends and finish school.

My dad got laid off of his engineering job, but found a new job a few weeks later. Best of luck to you guys.

Ced, PB, what the hell?  I think you fail to grasp just how bad it is for a family when someone gets laid off.  This isnt some band thread, this is a serious matter.  Both of you, grow the hell up.

Nobody thinks your badass because you can make fun of someones situation.  I would expect that from PB, but not you Ced.  I remember's Prodigy's "I'm **edited**" thread and you were one of the first to be understanding and tell him that everythings fine.  Yet, someone your not very fond of post a serious situation and you feel the need to be a douche.  If you can't say anything nice to Linus, then do him and everyone else a favor and stay the hell out of his thread.

Anyway, Linus-  Hope all goes well.  Can't ever say I've had it happen to me, but I can understand what your going through.  If you ever need someone to talk too, you've got my AIM.

agreed. my dad got laid off before, but i was around 2-3 so i didn't really know what happened.
