Any advantage/reason to switch to a tank with a 400psi reg instead of my 900psi, now that ive gone to the LPK?

Probably not. With the LPK, your reg will bring the tanks 800-900psi
down to Low pressure, of around 200-300. With a good regulator, you
don't need the LP tank. Just a waste of money.

It is likely that using the HPA with the low pressure out put valve/regulator which feeds into a secondary regulator (like a Palmer) will make your shot-to-shot pressure consistency somewhat better than if you were feeding the secondary with 800 psi. It is just the way a secondary regulator works. It is not having to hold accuracy over a 0 to 800 psi range, it now would only have to handle 0 to 400 variation. Now, the pressure out of the tank is held at a constant pressure, a slight advantage would be that you will still get good regulated pressure when internal tank pressure drops below 800 psi. Strictly speaking, it may really make no difference because you are using a secondary regulator to reduce the pressure to the level at which your marker functions best. |
