i'm pretty new in paintball and just had a question....i got an a-5 with egrip and everytime i shoot the gun at a fairly rapid rate (either using the 3 at a time burst or auto) the gun consistantly breaks paintballs. The balls seem to break in the area where the cyclone feeds it in. The broken ball is almost always sitting on top the sear (ball detent) with paint all over the inside of the gun. I'm thinking of changing to marblizers (i use some other cheap brand i bought at wal-mart)..but aside from doing that..does anyone have any other ideas on what i can do to prevent this? Maybe the cyclone isn't feeding the balls fast enough..i don't know how to oil a cyclone? I'm gonna be gone this weekend..but will be checking back probably on monday. thanks

Just use better paint and see if that fixes it. Buying cheap paint usually doesn't pay off. |

check to make sure that there isn't any of the screws sticking though the bottom of the cyclone.(these are the ones that hold the bottom plate on.) This can happen if you overtighten those.

You know when something just does'nt feel right, they seem very inconsistent and i knoe it's not the gun that's doing it. maybe it's my imagination but it shoots better with evil........what ya think? |

evil is good paint, it can be expensive depending on which ones you
get. most people experiance great success with marbs, try a new batch
if its just your first one.
which barrel are you using? |

Marbelizers aren't as good as they used to be, someone either got cheap, or they lost the magic recipe.
I've had good luck with GAP, and Viper Venom. Reasonable accuracy and they are cheap. GAP used to come in more varieties, Venom breaks on target more reliably than Marbs. |

Is your A-5 new? Did switching paint solve the problem? Do you have an "A" stamped on the bottom of the Cyclone? |

As with any paint there will be variances in fill density and shell hardness between brands. The A5's velocity is adjusted by disturbing airflow behind the ball, as such the accuracy for different paint can be increased by adjusting the velocity. In general, the A5 will tend to be more accurate with lower velocities than other paintball markers. So stick with the marbalizers, lower your velocity(which will also decrease broken balls), and keep trying.
