im not sure if this is anything, but im playing this weekend and i dont want to get out there and have my gun break. i have a 98 custom with rt and sometimes when i fire fast it half-uncocks. it doesnt really look uncocked but if i just pull it back a little bit it gets put back in position. i was shooting co2 at the time but its done it before with nitro too.

Sounds like you could be getting low on air maybe, check that first. You probably need to oil your gun. Open everything up and clean it out. I had the same problem and I think oil does the trick.

Also make sure that the two valve screws on the right side of you 98 are tight. Do not overtighten them or they will strip. Next time your 98 is apart take out the rear spring and slide the rear bolt back and forth and feel for any restrictions. If you really want you could polish the inside of the marker and cut down on friction as well.
