What do you mean high or low?  Operating pressure or tank pressure?

The operating pressure on most stock cockers is about 350 or so.  As a result, a high pressure tank (or adjustable) is generally recommended, with pressure to the gun of at least 550.

It is relatively easy, however, to make a cocker run at pressures down toward 200, at which point a low pressure tank is appropriate.
