my vote goes for neither.

A gun is not a weapon... It's a tool. Like a butcher knife, or a harpoon, or...uh, a...an alligator. |

IMO... Biggest. Waste. Of. Money. Ever. But to each his own. And if I had to choose, I'd go for the Engler. He makes great stuff.

I don't understand why someone would spend hundreds of dollars on aesthetics. I understand scenario play, but I'd never spend THAT much.

Just to alert everyone, "Gun maintenace and repair" is misspelled.

Look at all the folks who take an old Honda Civic and turn it into a "street racer". Spoilers, wind dams, wheels that cost more than the car itself... all for little more than appearance. $15,000+ in accessories and components for a car with a KBB/Edmunds value assessed at $3500. I'd never do it. I too, don't understand much of the reasoning behind it... but to each his own.
But... if I were to go that way for a paintball gun and had that kind of extra scratch to spend... I'd go with Engler over RAP4. Edited by ShortyBP - 29 January 2006 at 2:35pm |

I would take anything from Engler over rap4. Not sure the Tommy would be my choice, but definitely Engler.

Both those guns are to "show-offy". I would stick with the traditional Tippmann 98 custom due to it's capability of becoming a kick-ass sniper rifle. if you have a scenerio backpack, you could take a bunch of different upgrades and barrels into the game and switch between them.
The 98 custom in black is about $140, in camo $170. Buying paint balls and Co2 will be a big cost so set your crosshairs on a cheaper but very reliable gun. I own a 98 custom and I love it. It has never faulted me. another word of advice, unless you like to tear the gun you have apart a lot, don't get an A-5 response, response trigger is a hassel.

I've seen engler products in action, and have played with him in person at west point. I know his gear is of excellent quality, and noone that I've ever known that has purchased any of his stuff has had anything negative to say about it.
