I was wondering if it was better to start whith a 98c or anothet simple gun and upgrade it as i need it and as i get better, or just get a pro gun right away, and stick with it.
PLEASE! I don't want to make a horrible mistake! Edited by raflexjrsr - 07 February 2006 at 9:44pm |

I would start with a 98c or an A-5, better to learn the sport and proper maintiance. Personally I believe that evey new player should start with a pump, but I know you wont follow my advice so... Get the 98custom.

Yeah, a 98c is good to start out with. It's a great marker at an affordable price. If you don't like paintball then you haven't wasted a load of money. If you do you have an excellent marker that you can either upgrade or keep as a backup.

hmm... dont get a gun right away. rent first to make sure you like the
sport (i rented for 2 years without buying my CPro, and im a much
better player because of it.) renting gives you practice with likely
lower end or poorly maintained markers. if you can play with a gun
shooting 200, you can play with anything
. same principle as that behind starting with a pump.

A cheap, upgradeable gun is the way to go. The money you save on equipment can be used to play more often, and experience outweighs equipment.
I used a Tippmann in speedball tournaments successfully until I got a sponsor supplied gun. |
