Not a stupid question. The threads on older 98s are different from the threads on newer 98s. Custom Pros have the newer threads, but you'll have to check the serial number on your old 98 to see what kind of threads it has. There is some information about the specifics someplace around here... don't remember exactly where. |

See what the threads look like. If they're the really fat and big threads, then they're the newer 98c threads. If they're skinnier, then they're the old ones.

It depends. Most barrels are the new threads nowadays, but your pro-shop might try to screw you and give you one with the old threads. |
