I have a really quick question for the low pressure kit for a 98 custom. Ok well if i were to get a LP kit, can i run CO2 on it? or do i need to get a nitro tank? b/c i read in this forum that if your runnin on CO2 its good to get an LP kit to run on low pressure. but on some websites where u go to buy an LP kit it says this: *** A nitrogen bottle and secondary regulator are not included in this kit, but are required. so that means i need a nitro bottle and a secondary regulator right? someone help me out b4 i make the mistake of buying the LP kit without the nitro tank. |

Yes, you can run it with CO2, and then you need a good secondary regulator that can handle any liquid CO2 you might suck up, like a Palmer's Stabilizer or AKA Sidewinder (I think sidewinders are good... maybe check PBreview.com).
In fact, I've read that you get more of an improvement from No-LPK to LPK with CO2, instead of Nitro. Maybe think about anti-siphoning your tank also, for even better consistency. Edited by Jack Carver - 26 April 2006 at 10:35pm |

what is anti-siphoning? srry ima a newb oh and what upgrade for my gun should i buy first? an LP kit or a HPA tank? since u said a non-LP kit to a LP kit conversion with CO2 works better. Edited by madchedder - 26 April 2006 at 11:00pm |

An HPA tank will be better than using C02 and will make your shots very consistent. If you get HPA, I'd suggest getting a regulator after. Then, if you still want the LPK, get that.
Anti-siphoning is when a qualified airsmith puts an antisiphon tube into your C02 tank which will help keep liquid C02 out of your gun. Liquid C02 is that white stuff that comes out of the barrel when you shoot sometimes. This will help consistency. Edited by Bango - 26 April 2006 at 11:06pm |

Thats correct, low pressure actually has a bigger benefit with co2. The reason is co2 stays at a liquid state when its under pressure. When you lower the pressure, liquid co2 will boil off to gas. kewl thanks, then ill probably buy the LP kit first and keep my CO2 tank and buy a secondary regulator. then after i save up more money ill buy a nitro tank ^_^. thanks guys for your help.

srry i have another question. Ok lets say i buy the LP kit and then i wanna upgrade to nitro. Should i just buy the high pressure nitro tank and lower the pressure with the regulator? or will buying a low pressure tank be better? b/c LPAs are obviously mor expensive... so wouldnt the HPA tank be like an LPA tank with the LP kit connected? |

You will need to get a high pressure (800-850psi) fixed out-put tank for your Tippmann. It can be used with or without a LP kit. I have a 98 with a LP kit and a Tippmann Techline regulator.One of the local fields I play at doesn't have HPA fills so I start out with a fully charged HPA tank and then switch over to co2 when my HPA runs out. I have had this set up for three years and it works great.
