Dremmel would be your best bet. Search around on here, Im sure that there is a few post that would give you more information.

I agree with GThomas. Dremel is a poor choice for work of that kind. Wayyyy too easy to lose control of the tool and gouge a nice big chunk out of your reciever.

Start with a large grain hand file, that will take off the majority of the letters in short order, stop short of all the way off. Drop down to a fine grain file to clean it up, just take it slow, remember you cant put metal back if you remove too much. Once you get it smoothed down and approximately round with the file, go at it with some steel wool. Start with a high grade steel wool, and drop down to really fine grain like #000, packs of steel wool are like $1.50 at Ace Hardware so you might as well do it up right.

Even with a mill you still need to work it by hand. I used my machine to rough off the letters and velocity screw flare, but the curved surfaces mean you cant just do it all on a mill.

yea...when i first started with my dremmel on my gun i gouged it in a few places...

now im trying to level it all out and i really regret not working slower. if you do work with a dremmel be sure to go slow, and be careful
